10.15-12.20 Keynote Speaker - Maud de Boer-Buquicchio, Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe

Followed by a plenary panel. Convenor: Professor dr. juris Herdís Thorgeirsdóttir, Bifrost University, Iceland and Vice President of EWLA.

· Leadership in Business and Public Life. Convenor, Vanessa Williams, Partner, Bates Wells and Braithwaite, London
Speakers: - Janet Gaymer, UK Commissioner for Public Appointments; Michelle Ryan, University of Exeter; Leena Linnainmaa, President of EWLA

· Legal Education. Convenor Judith Willis, Professor of Legal Practice, BPP College and General Secretary of EWLA.
Speakers: - Julian Webb, Director of the UK Centre for Legal Education; Vittorio Olgiati, University of Urbino, Italy; Sue Nelson, M.A., Council member of the Law Society of England and Wales for the past 10 years, chaired its review of pre-qualification education and training.

· Family Law. Convenor and Speaker Emma Ries, Partner, Kingsley Napley, solicitors
Speakers: - Charlotte Butruille-Cardew, French family lawyer and person responsible for initiating collaborative law in France.

· Fundamental Rights in Europe after the Treaty of Lisbon. Convenor Beate Rudolf, Professor of Public Law Free University Berlin and Vice-President of EWLA.
Speakers: - Sophia Spiliotopoulos, Attorney-at-Law, Alternate Member of the FRA Management Board and Past Vice-President of EWLA.

Throughout the day, delegates will be able to book free, individual well-being/de-stress sessions (10 minutes each) with Jane Hanson.

SATURDAY 5th

Morning
9.00- 10.00 Plenary/panel session speaker Hanne Severinsen “Being heard in Eastern Europe.”
Ms Severinsen was a Member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe for 17 years and Rapporteur Ukraine for 12 years. She has also participated in the UN conferences on women’s rights. She is now advisor to Ukraine’s Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko and will compare the situation in Ukraine to that of Denmark and the Nordic countries.

10.00- 12.30 Workshops as on Friday, with half hour break for coffee

· Competition law. Carol Xueref, member of the AFFJ board and member of the French Council of Competition.

· Women in the criminal justice system.
Speakers: - Sally O’Neill, QC, Chairman of the Criminal Bar Association, UK; Karon Monaghan, QC, UK Barrister, member of the Fawcett Commission on Women in the Criminal Justice System.

· Work-life balance. Convenor and Speaker Judith Willis, as above
Speakers: - Béatrice Castellane, President of AFFJ and former president of the French and British Lawyers Association; Jane Hanson, an experienced well-being practitioner who combines a range of physical therapies (massage, reflexology, reiki, intuitive counselling and energy work) with a broad spectrum of general health and fitness advice, work-life balance guidance, personal development work and healthy common sense and Lucy Daniels, consultant, researcher and writer on the subject of work-life balance, flexible working and childcare, founding Director of Parents At Work and associate director of the Work Life Research Centre; Roselyn Borg, Baileyfields Solicitors, an employment law specialist.

· Anti-discrimination and diversity law. Convenor Jackie Jones, University of the West of England.
Speakers: - Nathalie Leroy, member of the AFFJ board; Susie Uppal, Director of Legal Enforcement, Equality and Human Rights Commission (the Commission's most senior female lawyer); Dr. Martina Köppen, Head of the German Federal Anti-Discrimination Body.

Lunch

2.00- 4.00 General Assembly
Elections to the Board, discussion on amendments to the Constitution of EWLA and various Congress resolutions
