Founder of Borg Knight Solicitors, Roselyn is a dual qualified lawyer specialising in employment law. She has a number of years experience in contentious and non-contentious employment matters, acting on behalf of employers and employees as well as providing an advisory service on all aspects of employment law.
Roselyn specialises in employment law and she has represented employers and employees on various cases where she also conducted the advocacy in the Employment Tribunal. She in fact handled a case that was quoted in IDS Employment Law Brief (Issue 835 p. 13) - Gabri v Sun Hydraulics Ltd. This dealt with the transitional provisions of the Age Discrimination Regulations (acted for the claimant). The legal point was determined at a pre hearing review. The parties then agreed on an out of court settlement.
Roselyn reviewed the legislative framework and reviewed the material, in light of her experience with employers, a Manual for Employers and she also drafted a piece of legislation for the Maltese Government. She has experience in drafting policies and procedures for employers.
For three years Roselyn was the legal advisor of an Employers’ Association gaining an understanding of employers’ requirements and concerns and she acquired vast experience in dealing with Trade Unions. Throughout the years she worked for the Employers’ Association she represented the Association on EU projects and campaigns and also attended a number of conferences overseas. Roselyn was also an alternate Board member representing employers at the European Foundation for the improvement of living and working conditions.
Roselyn was the legal advisor of the Malta National Council of Women where she co-ordinated the EU committee and addressed a number of seminars.
For three years she served as a Gender Equality Expert for Malta reporting to the EU Commission.
Roselyn is currently working on another EU project and this is a study contract on “Indirect measurement methods for undeclared work in the EU".
Roselyn has considerable experience in organising and presenting seminars and training events for HR practitioners and employers. She relishes working within a multi cultural society and is fluent in English, Italian and Maltese and also has a good working knowledge of French.
Her interests include travelling, good food, fashion and interior design. Her main interest however is keeping herself updated with EU developmentsand EU matters in general.
